A national food retailer was concerned at a high level of losses through the store checkouts.
Analysis carried out and established that the losses were due to a number of factors the main ones being:
- Dishonesty by staff
- Training issues
- Process errors
- EPOS ergonomics
We introduced a new software package that linked to the EPOS system, to the CCTV cameras and replaced the CCTV system in a cost effective way.
A system of filters enable us to upload exceptions/cases including CCTV images to our audit team for review the following day. There are 4000 combinations of filters (and, if and or) that enable us to track most checkout exceptions.
The system has produced a ROI of less than 6 months, has detected 1000’s of cases, and has greatly reduced unknown stock loss.
